G - Gorgeous

 Godetia

The name Godetia is used interchangeably with Clarkia and Farewell to Spring, as they are all members of the Clarkia family. This is a must have plant for me.  The pink one below is a type called "Deerhorn Clarkia," or "Ragged Robin," for the shape of the petals.

Gladiola

A very common garden flower, the three colors below were from a mixed bag in 2020 from the Dollar Tree (6 in a bag).  They come back year after year, and spread.

Globe Gilia

An annual member of the phlox family, pollinators love globe gilia.

Next, we say "Hello" to H.

    1. Oh, I have plenty of failures and dead plants! I once saw a garden blog post called "Tell the Truth Tuesday," where the author showed some areas of her garden that were not the scenes usually seen. You're in Florida, for heaven's sake! You can grow warm weather, tropicals I would only dream of!

    1. Everyday there's something new opening up its petals! And I have to look at them on the sly, as it were. This new pup sees me do anything he goes over after I've gone to take a look. And pull up the plant, or dig up the seeds, or eat the flowers. A toddler...

    1. Thank you. :) They are very flashy. They don't last long enough though.

  6. I love gladiolas. So many color combinations. I wish they had an aroma. I used to buy a whole bunch of them cut for a dollar from the farmer's market.

  7. Apologies for being a day late, but I was actually out looking at flowers, at the Carlsbad Flower Fields. I don't think I saw any of your varieties, though.
