Saturday Pinks

Six on Saturday, and most are pink for "Anything Goes" Pink Saturday as well.

1 and 2 - Two Colors of 'Summer Berries' Yarrow

3 - 'Salmon Sunset' Four O'Clock

4 - Unknown Zinnia

It might just change my mind about them. I always grow some and they never look at pretty as in other gardens.   This one does.

5 -'Grape Magic' Dalily

Bought bareroot last year from Walmart, a package of 2 for $3.  I am pleasantly surprised it bloomed so soon, and so nicely.  In fact, I am pleasant pleased it bloomed at all for that price!

6 - The Front Yard

Heavy on the golds, what are visible blooming are three kinds of coreopsis, blanketflower, gaura, daylilies, two colors of yarrow, blazing star, black-eyed Susan, Persian catmint, Russian sage, and alyssum. Also growing is a great "crop" of euphorbia, or spotted spurge.

    1. Aren't they? I am so pleased with them, as they grew from seed and I was in suspense until the flowers opened. At first they all looked white. The top one started all pink, then is fading to lighter and lighter pink, or "watermelon" as someone (actually the one who gave me the seeds!) called it.

  2. I haven't grown four o'clocks in years and yours caught my eye immediately - orange (?) with a pink blush - how pretty!

    1. I guess that's why the "salmon" is in their name. Like the wild salmon color anyway. This is the first time I've grown any that weren't the regular bright dark pink.

  4. I just discovered Wal-Mart's plant sale yesterday. Some damage was done....I like your front garden's golden theme.

    1. Funny! Well, at least the prices were better than some places. And, at least at my stores, the plants are from growers fairly close. I didn't mean to have a theme, the coreopsis is just overpowering the rest!
