So, what's blooming in my garden on this cold January morning?
Rosemary.
Just rosemary.
Prostrate rosemary
Blue Boy rosemary
That's it.
The end.

Well, sometimes rosemary is enough and just what the gardener ordered! I lost my plant last summer and I need to replace it. Wonderful (and essential) herb.
ReplyDeleteIf I were in a warmer zone I'd get a white flowering or golden rosemary ('Joyce de Baggio'). The special ones always seem to be less hardy.
DeleteWhat ever form of rosemary that I plant in the ground, it doesn’t get so tall or erect. It tends to lay on the ground. You haver great blooms.
ReplyDeleteI like Rosemary as a seasoning and as a blooming plant! Delicate purple blooms - very pretty
ReplyDeleteI'm actually going to use some in a stew tonight!
DeleteYour post is further proof of just how tough rosemary is. Not only does is handle your cold (and probably wet) conditions but also my extremes of heat and drought. What's not to love?! And, if that's not enough, it's pretty, smells great, and flavors our food.
ReplyDeleteI just have to make sure they're not recommended for zones 8-11 (the white are), because, although I'm zone 8a, it's safer to be sure they can take below that.
DeleteSame with lavender. There are many I'd like, but not all survive here. Some really struggle.
Pretty! Thank you for this dreary day brightener. Happy Gardening, my dear.
