It's Daylily Time! Part 2 - July 3, 2025
More daylilies have opened since last week!
Left: Black-Eyed Stella
Right: Bonanza
Left: Edna Selman
Right: Ruffled Apricot has huge flowers.
A pretty unnamed yellow spider from a friend's "Mixed Spiders." I like the yellow stripe down the center of each petal. It also smells good!
A No-Name from Insider Trading seed. A friend grew it.
Grape Magic - these are proof you don't have to pay a lot for daylilies. You might wait an extra year or two for them to bloom though. In 2020 I got a package of four at Walmart for $3.00. They started blooming in 2022. The clump needs dividing now.
Rocket City will have bigger flowers later in the summer.
I shared Stella d'Oro last week. That too is from Walmart in 2020, a two-pack for $3.00. Look at one of them now! That's Double Classic in the back.
I don't know what setting I unknowingly used for this photo, but I like how it turned out! The only time I change my phone camera options is occasionally using square. Most of the time I just edit them square.
There are other daylilies with buds, so they'll be up next week! Then, hopefully some of the ones that haven't bloomed for me will. A few were only planted last year, so might take longer. I find I've planted some and forgot what they are, and have some on a list, but forgot where I planted them! Unfortunately, I don't think they match up.
Many of these daylilies came from a generous friend who after dividing hers game them to me. Daylilies (like iris) do best divided every three to five years.

Wow. So many daylilies.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful blog
ReplyDeleteDay lilies are so pretty. We had quite a variety at our old house, but we only have three different kinds here. I think you may have had your camera set on Portrait which gives a focus in the middle and blur around the edges. My phone seems to end up on that setting more than I want.
ReplyDeleteI love that cream colored lily, nice choice!
ReplyDeleteYou have many besutiful daylilies! I am very fond of the spiders. Mine are not flowering yet , but soon...
ReplyDeleteWOW just wow, love the rocket city. Incredibly color.
