Little Plum Tree on the Deck Transplant

I was given a little plum tree from a co-worker years ago, probably 2016.  Her son had planted a pit.  I planted it in the largest ceramic pot I had and until last week it was on my deck.  It's the tree referred to as "flowering plum" in past posts.

I thought it must be getting root bound, and the only place I could think to plant it was a bare spot in the herb garden where the Platinum Blonde lavender had been before it died.  I don't know why it died.

The pot didn't need to be broken to get it out!  With that shape I thought it might.

There weren't many roots after all.  It could have stayed in the pot.

At least that meant a smaller hole!

It looks nice there even if it's not an herb.  The only issue will be keeping the oreganos trimmed back from its trunk.  The bright yellowish green is Golden oregano. The other clump on the left is Hot & Spicy.

The deck needs to come down, much of it is rotted.  That's not going to be a pleasant chore.  At this point I'm not sure what's going to replace it.
