Thursday Postcard Hunt - Spring Flowers
April's theme for Thursday Postcard Hunt is Spring. This week it's Spring Flowers. A few of my spring flowers have come and gone. Crocus and daffodils are two very early spring bloomers that are finished.
World Flower Center, Aalsmeer, Holland
Holland's famous tulips.
Identified on the card as Lilacs, however they look like Violets instead.
Crocus
Next week's Spring theme is (Song) Birds.
...I've hear of the Aalsmeer Flower Auction!
ReplyDeletewow, the first postcard is ...wow! Love the crocus card. The purple flowers look like violets to me.... I have tons in my garden.
ReplyDeleteI have several different views of the auction. I thought they looked like violets too, perhaps they were misidentified. I'll add that note to the post.
DeleteAalsmeer offers a very different perspective of the flower world!
ReplyDeleteOh, and tulips are among my favourite flowers. Although I would never say any flower is not beautiful. I love them all!
Still some daffodils here :)
I am the opposite, I don't care for tulips! I have one small patch in a tree bed. I like the pattern of the petals inside. I won 100 bulbs once, gave a lot away, planted the others, became irritated and pulled them out! I still find them popping up here and there! I don't know what's wrong with them!
Deleteanother west coaster showing off with their early spring flowers :)) Vancouver is always doing that to the rest of us! Really, I'm jealous. I have been known to collect certain cards because of their mislabelling, the violets are lovely.
ReplyDeleteI have a few animal cards that are definitely mislabeled! I think our spring is late, since I'm from Northern CA (San Francisco area) and I'd have planted my vegetables already by now!
DeleteThat first one feels very factory. I like it.
ReplyDeleteThe vast industry of flower selling is quite mind boggling. I like the hardy little crocus and how they spread so easily especially I observe in churchyards.
