Sunday Stamps - April 13, 2025

The Color White is the theme for this week's Sunday Stamps

Kingdom of Bhutan  1972
White Horse, by Gaugin

Part of the eight stamp series of famous masterpieces, it is embossed with with brushstrokes to, as closely as possible, replicate the artist's original work.  It is lacquer coated to increase durability, and to make it shinier like a painting, and on stiff, quite thick paper.

    1. I've never seen snowdrops, and wouldn't try to grow them as I don't really have plantable shade.

    1. It's unusual, and at first it seemed fake. It's so thick, with no edges like stamps have. The back is shiny like it's the licking kind of stamp. I guess it would be at that age.

  4. I was so excited to see we have snowdrops blooming now. Bhutan's stamp is quite original.
