Fruit and Vegetable Update - June 6, 2025

My Pluot has been sick for years.  I let it go since it still flowers and looks pretty in the spring.  It hasn't produced any fruit for a while.  No, it starts to, but they either drop or rot and shrivel on the tree.  So, it was surprising to find so many little pluots on it this year.  I wouldn't have notice if a branch hadn't broken off, loaded with them.  Maybe some will stay on the tree this year.  No more fruit trees for me.  They are so much trouble.

Salad Bush cucumber baby.

Lemon cucumbers planted from seeds are looking good.

There's some germinating dill in with them, as well as in a container of strawberries.  Dill is a good companion plant for both.

The FFA tomatoes are doing very well.  I supposed I should credit the Lane's potting soil.

Sugar Snap peas at last!  We'll see how they do over the next week, it's going to be in the 90°s.

Hope your weekend is a good one!

  1. Maybe you'll get some pluots this year? I took out a plum tree, you are right it's a lot to deal with. The peas look delicious.

  2. We had a plum tree when I was a kid. It was wonderful for many summers. Then, it started to have problems. It was still there when we moved out, though.

  3. I was not familiar with pluots, so I looked them up. They sound delicious. I hope you can get some this year.
