Motley Monday, the Last in May - May 26, 2025
First, a tomato update. The "mysteries" are the two on the left.
One is a full-size tomato, the flower is one on a stem. Have to wait a lot longer to see what kind it is!
The Summer Bush cucumbers are blooming. The lemon cucumber seeds haven't sprouted yet. I had two extra Summer Bush plants, which I left out by the sidewalk with a free sign. A neighbor walking her dog took them.
View back towards the house from the viewpoint of sitting in one of them.
Some "Pretties."
Turkish Sage (I got the seeds on eBay years ago, from a seller in the UK not active anymore.)
Rose Marvel Salvia (The hardy geranium keeps invading the salvia's personal space.)
You can't go wrong with Persian Catmint! Easy to grow. Spreads on its own, also by seed, or you can root cuttings in water. Blooms on and on, and cut back it will rebloom. Plus, it's a lovely dark purple and the leaves smell wonderful! Another eBay seed purchase. Once I had a few I didn't need to sow more.
Potato Capsid or Mirid on one of its preferred food sources, daisy (this is Angel Shasta daisy). This type of insect appeared in my garden only a few years ago. It appeared around the same time as large legal marijuana grows popped up in the valley.
I apologize for not keeping up on reading and/or commenting on your posts, or replying to your comments here. I've been sick. It feels like I should add "again." A few weeks feeling well, then back to coughing. Now a fever. This post took all my energy. I do have regular ones scheduled, some just needing links.
I hope you feel better soon. You gardens look great and your vegetables are further along than ours are here in the Mid-Atlantic.
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm sorry to hear you've caught something. I hope you feel better soon. Your garden looks great, do you have a cat that enjoys the catmint? Mine sure does! The plant seems to take the daily pruning bites in stride.
ReplyDeleteSo many beauties and so much happening here! I'm jealous of your Tomatoes' progress! Mine are tiny little plants yet because we've had a week of cool temps. I even covered them at night, because I know Tomatoes perform better when they don't get too cold. Your last photos of the lovely flowers are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteOh yikes. Sorry. Being sick sucks. I had a cold that lingered for about three months before I finally shook it off. I hope whatever you've got doesn't last nearly that long.
ReplyDeleteI hope you feel better soon. There is a stomach bug making its rounds where I live. Like Liz says, being sick sucks.
