They are center beam flat cars. The window one has "opera windows." They only have one side wall. They're used for things like lumber, plywood, sheetrock. That train was coming or going from one of the local mills that make fiberboard.
Fortunately, I happened by when it had already started! Once at the same intersection it held up an ambulance. I think the ambulance driver should have driven over the center divide curb to make a u-turn and gone a different way rather than wait.
