Flowers Liked the Smoke - September 1, 2023

The flowers thrived in the smoke of the past few weeks.  While it was warm temperatures, the sun couldn't beat down on them.

An aster with a ridiculous name, Kickin' something has begun blooming .  I was purchased as Kickin' Pink Chiffon, but I think it's Kickin' Carmine Red

May May daylily has the most ordinary name of the bunch.

Red Riding Hood penstemon blooming again after I cut back the first old flowers.

Spintop Orange Halo is a mouthful of a name too.

How about this for a name?   Sunsparkler "Dazzleberry" sedum.

I may have gotten a little too close on that one!  Here's the sedum itself.

This bumblebee was caught in the sprinkler, and the video shows it drying itself.

Wonderful rain fell last night, and it's raining right now!

This morning this tiny snail was still out in the dampness. Don't see it?

Here...

Enjoy the weekend, whatever your weather.

  1. So, the smoke was good for one thing. That's quite the catalog of blooms.
