Various shadows around the yard. The Japanese anemone photos are from a few days ago, it's gone now. The last holdouts are gone since the past few nights have been in the 20s.
Nice macro photography on the Japanese anemones. You found a variety of shadows in the garden. P.S. your question about the tree saplings in tubes - this sapling was part of a New York State program to plant trees along riverbanks. Use of the tubes seems to be a common practice in this program. My guess, besides snow protection, is protection against deer.
