Go link your sky!

It's also Groundhog Day, or Candlemas.  Candlemas is the mid-point between winter and spring (as well as a Christian feast day), and folklore says after today the worst of winter is over.  Candlemas has the same weather prediction tradition as Groundhog Day.

"If Candlemas Day be fair and bright, Winter will have another fight. If Candlemas Day brings cloud and rain, winter won't come again."

Two recent mornings.  There are been a few days with no rain!

Have a nice weekend.

  1. I like the colors in the first photo. Re the Candlemas rhyme, the author lived in a different clime than mine. We are gloomy so much of the winter (I usually don't take pictures of those skies) that it really doesn't matter if the groundhog sees his shadow or not. Winter always comes again!

  2. Then we're doomed. Today is nice and sunny. Things are drying out after yesterday's rainstorm. (And we're supposed to get rain all next week.)

  3. Beautiful images, and here's to an early spring! (hopefully)
