From the Goodwill Bins.

I have a set of these wooden salt and pepper shakers from a retail Goodwill too.  These are different in that they are souvenirs from Lakeview, Oregon, and are in better shape.  Yes, better shape from the Bins!  1950s.  I'm not sure why Lakeview, OR had a need for souvenirs.  The population is less than 3,000, although it's the county seat of Lake County.  It's also called the "Tallest Town in Oregon," for its elevation of 4,757 feet above sea level.  This is a bit of a misleading claim, there are towns with higher elevations.  One, Greenhorn, is 6,296 (or 6,306, both listed in the same article!) above sea level.  It's the "highest" listed, not "tallest," and is the "highest" incorporated city.  Lakeview doesn't seem to have enough of a draw to have souvenirs, however in the 1950s, maybe they were hopping!

A zinc watering can, with pale blue paint (chipping which apparently adds to the appeal) made in Slovakia.  1930s!  These are incredibly collectible so I'm surprised it was still there.

A vintage color lithograph.  I took it out of the wooden frame, which was missing glass.  As always, it needs a mat to keep the glass off the print.

I'll spare you all the odds and ends!  Dog toys.  Unused vintage scrapbook.  Old metal Folgers coffee scoop.  Chia seeds.  You know, the normal Bins stuff!

  2. I'm not a big souvenier person, but I think those salt and pepper shakers would have been an exception.
