A Sunday Walk in the Not-Park - September 30, 2024

It seems incredible for September to be over already.

Mickey and I went to check out the park renovation progress yesterday.

Lots of equipment.

The old path is torn up.

Something round has been constructed.  Last time I guessed the blue courts were for pickleball, but not knowing anything about the sport maybe it's played on a round area.

Something is getting what might be a roof.

There are still a few spots of pretty, like this chicory in bloom.  I mention "in bloom" because chicory not in bloom is quite ugly!

Mickey found it all too boring.  I can only imagine how the school kids find it!  There's Roxy Ann Peak in the background.

I think I've shown this climbing structure before, as a shadow, but here it is again.  I like it!

Mickey had more fun once we got home.  A raven was bad mouthing him!  They aren't as bad as the crows, but so much bigger I think it bothers him more seeing them.

Hope you all have a nice week.  My youngest has a birthday later this week.  And, with October beginning, it's time to put out the Halloween decorations!

  3. I thought pickleball was played on a tennis court (or at least similar to a tennis court). It's fun to guess what they're building, and then one day you'll know if you're right.

    1. It might well be! They took out the old tennis court, which was unused, and unusable. I do like to guess!

  4. I love taking photos of construction and the equipment, so I love your photos. I don't think the round pad is for pickleball. At first I thought a splash pad but there doesn't seem to be any plumbing associated with it. We're depending on you to keep tabs and let us know what it is.

    1. The plans do include a splash pad, but on the other side of the park.

  5. It will be nice to see the park finished - and what that round pad is for? Mickey is so cute.

    1. I could check the plans, but I like the guessing and watching it progress! I just realized I had the plans downloaded this morning!

  6. It will be interesting to see what the round court is for. Nothing I can think of. Definitely not pickleball (which I don't play but have seen played). Your raven's call fascinated me. We have ravens here in the East but they don't sound like that. I know, west coast birds can be quite different.

    1. Oh, the ravens and crows have other calls. That wasn't their usual, more like the crow caw. They make sounds to bother the dog. Some crows meow. Ravens often click.
