Tuesday Treasures - February 11, 2025

I went to the Goodwill Bins yesterday, and found quite a few things.  Some actually useful!  "Useful" doesn't make for a fun post, so here are some mosaics showing a lot of what I got.

I am not sure what the little drip glaze pottery item is.  It's tiny, and signed BOB, and the colors are brighter than they look here.  The plate was made in Japan, and while very crudely painted, the images are fun.  That's not a chip on the upper right, it's a spot the glaze missed.
Possible brass frame (a magnet does not stick), the second travel clock I've found in the Bins (this is an Elgin made in Japan, works find), and a flower frog.
Kitchen Things (once again, I am reminded of A Jury of Her Peers, and the importance of kitchen things)

A mug (Royal Norfolk, the brand sold at the Dollar Tree, don't be fooled, they are on eBay for much more than $1.25!), a 4 quart stainless steel mixing bowl (I have a larger one too), two ceramic measuring spoons for decor (the other two were broken), and a new sink strainer (I do not have a garbage disposal).
I wanted the marbles that were sealed into this little carafe, so got the entire thing (10¢ lb.).

Narrow grosgrain ribbon.

Two prints from Open Eyes Press (it doesn't look like they are in business anymore).  The hand mixer was loose out of its protective packaging, so it's crumpled.

The photos don't do this painting justice, and you might wonder why I saved it!

It's actually very pretty, lots of gold that glimmers if you hold it right.

I thought it looked like a sandy landscape,  however there are craters that seem to have steam coming out of them.  An alien planet?  Bubbling mudpots at Lassen National Park?
Also, not pictured, three sweaters (was four, but one had a hole I didn't notice there), and two toys for Mickey.  He was not impressed, they were not dog toys, so no squeaking.

It all came to under $4.50!  I rounded up.  The rounding up money went to CASA this time. That is an organization that trains and provides volunteer advocates for abused and neglected children.  The employees choose where donations go, alternating between stores.  In addition, Southern Oregon Goodwill has a program, GoodBooks, that allows those age 0-18 to come in and pick out a book a day for free!   Read 25 (keep track with the GoodBooks bookmark) and get a $5 gift certificate.  Not to mention the Loyalty Card to earn points to use as cash.
