Sunday Stamps - March 2, 2025
Famous Women is the theme for this Sunday Stamps.
Three from the U.S.
Eleanor Roosevelt 1963
Martha Washington 1938
Susan B. Anthony 1955, issued 50 years to the day after she met President Theodore Roosevelt (Eleanor Roosevelt's uncle) to speak to him about an amendment to give women the right to vote. She didn't live to see it passed in 1920.
Next week will see Warm Vacation Location stamps.
Amazing women!
ReplyDeleteI have been reading about Susan B. Anthony. What an interesting woman and life!
ReplyDeleteAll great women! Great collection!
ReplyDeleteSusn B Anthony looks like she's lived a hard life. I also admire Eleanor Roosevelt.
ReplyDeleteYes, not a complimentary image! Perhaps of her late in life, she lived to almost 90.
DeleteEleanor Roosevelt is perhaps the most famous of the famous. Impressive for her human rights work and as first lady.
ReplyDeleteShe certainly was impressive, and well beyond her time in her beliefs. Or, at least vocally, and as a woman.
DeleteSusan B. Anthony looked like a no-nonsense woman.
