The design of the Romanian stamps is perfect. with an apparent simplicity, they capture the essence of the sport.
ReplyDeleteI like the stamps from Romania: design and color.
ReplyDeleteThe Romanian stamps were my favorite, too.
ReplyDeleteYou can see how the rings logo has subtly changed from '56 to '60. And, I'll add my vote for the Romanian stamps being a favourite :)
ReplyDeleteInteresting how everyone, so far, has liked the Romanian stamps best! I like the one from Lebanon with the lines going around and around, outward from the main image. Maybe because I remember doodling lines doing that! Maybe I still do.
DeleteGreat stamps!
ReplyDeleteOh, wild. I did not realize the spacing of the Olympic rings had changed. But clearly from the '50s to the '60s they did.
ReplyDeleteI like the Lebanon design almost a little person cutout among the lines. Steady hand needed for the engraver.
ReplyDeleteThat's why it's my favorite too!
DeleteAlways a pleasure to see such old stamps! The Romanian designs are simple, but they feel a bit flat to me. I really like the Lebanese stamp – the "cut-out" style gives it a nice sense of depth. Or maybe I'm imagining things! Either way, this is a fantastic collection of Olympic stamps.
