First Frost!

Yes, last night had the first frost of the season.  It was a bit earlier than last year, which was on the 28th, but fairly close to the expected date of around the 23rd for a 90% chance.

The herbs always look pretty, many have slightly hairy leaves to catch the frost.

I love how the frost edges some leaves, like these dandelion's.

Yep, it froze last night, and this morning was cold!  Time to break out the blankie!

  2. Oh, I'm surprised you've had a frost, and I haven't really had one yet. Some in low-lying areas around here have, but for now, anyway, my Zinnias and most of my other annuals are still OK. I know that will change soon... :(

  3. Wow, so early to have frost. Of course you are up north compared to me. But the photos are beautiful. And the doggie’s face always adorable!!

  5. I haven't been out yet but I woke to a thick fog so we may have been saved again. Frost is always so pretty on our sage leaves. My coleus have already died despite only getting (as of last night) to 37 degrees F.
