Sunday Stamps - October 20, 2024
Birds are the theme for this week's Sunday Stamps.
There are so many beautiful stamps with so many beautiful birds it was hard to narrow it down! Here's a sampling of birds from around the globe.
French Southern and Antarctic Territories 1956
Rockhopper Penguins
Japan 1975
From a bingata, Birds in Flight part of International Ocean Exposition, Stamp Expo in Okinawa.
Brazil 2021
Diplomatic Relations Series: Brazil and the Dominican Republic
Palm-chat, the Dominican Republic's National Bird
Simple, yet my favorite here.
Canada c1957, a loon
Canada c1957, a loon
Oman 1982
Red-Legged Partridge
Romania 1960
Black Grouse
Penguins always make me smile :) The Japanese birds look like they might be seeking fish in those waves. The loon is a favourite of mine, too (I'd forgotten the issue date - it's as old as me!)
ReplyDeleteThe loon is my age, the same year of " birth," 1957!
DeleteBirds seem to be a popular subject of stamps.
ReplyDeleteAll over the world, people love birds. I'm older than all of these stamps!
ReplyDeleteThe penguins stamp is really awesome. The last stamp is beautiful too
ReplyDeleteBeautiful stamps.👍🏽
ReplyDeleteRockhoppers, endlessly cute and a lovely stamp. I never see a loon on a stamp without wishing I could stand by a Canadian lake and hear its call.
ReplyDeleteOh, I love specially the designs of the Japanese and Canadian stamps.
ReplyDeleteI have the first one, too, and it always make me smile.
