Garden Bloggers' Bloom Day - October 2024

Garden Bloggers' Bloom Day

Things have wound down in the garden this month.  Days are nice, nights are cool, some even cold.  Thursday is forecast to get down to 35°.  Won't be long 'til frost!

Alyssum in spots is lush.

Knautia Macedonica Red Knight

If it weren't for the blanketflowers things would be pretty bare.  Even so, they're getting tired.

Gaura, which I tried to get rid of.

A few calendulas are left, not open yet in the early morning.

Summer Berries Yarrow

Morning glories, lance-leaf coreopsis, ratted dahlia, and one mini black-eyed Susan.

Hope your garden is blooming well!

  1. I heard a cool down is happening this week. Great blooms. I hope some survive the cool down.

  4. Ha! Gaura is a mixed blessing, isn't it?! Your Gaillardias are doing much better than mine, which can best be described as a scraggly mess.

  5. Lovely Lisa! I think that I must have Knautia 'Red Knight' as well, as it is still blooming out there too. I could not remember which it was but that looks right. Always nice to have everything flush again as it cools down. Happy GBBD!

  6. I had something unexpected happen yesterday which prevented me from commenting on most GBBD blogs, so I am slowly making my way through them. Your morning glories caught my eye. I can just imagine the sweet scent of alyssum; too bad there is no scent-o-blog (it could have downsides, of course!) We are probably getting our first frost tonight. If not tonight, then tomorrow night. Sigh....

  7. Your Alyssum and Blanket Flowers are looking lovely for fall and I especially enjoyed your Morning glories too. Hopefully your first frost will not be too soon!
