Garden Bloggers' Bloom Day - November 2024

 Garden Bloggers' Bloom Day

November 2024

Two kinds of mint, strawberry (left) and orange, and Persian catmint.

The blanketflowers of course!  A few ground-level black-eyed Susan, and a huge calendula masquerading as a dandelion.

More calendulas in the front yard. It's time for me to stop deadheading and let them go to seed.

Already gone to seed and ready to go are the love-in-a-mist!

A few out of season bearded iris.  It's the first time they've done this.

Red Riding Hood penstemon, prostrate rosemary, and a volunteer Hidcote lavender.

The only way to see the flowers on creeping winter savory is to turn them over, the flower clusters are on the bottom of the stems.

So, not a lot left...

  1. Maybe not enough for you but 100% more than I have. Enjoyed each and every one. I've never grown winter savory; I like those flowers. And, of course, we can't grow rosemary outdoors in the winter. Normally my husband would pot them up and bring them indoors, but that won't happen this year.

  3. I'd so love to grow catmint! I've tried several times but a neighborhood cat inevitably eats it to the ground in a single night. I have some blanket flowers left too and I just sowed Calendula seeds last week. I'm hoping the latter will do well in my cool season garden - the local botanic garden has them everywhere right now, which I'm treating as a sign.

  4. That's a pretty good haul for this time of year. Flowers on the bottom of the plant? How very interesting.
