Thursday Postcard Hunt - Aerial Views

November's theme for Thursday Postcard Hunt is Urban.  This week will be Aerial Views.

Toronto, Ontario, Canada with the CN Tower.  I got this card from a Postcrossing-er.

Satellite view rather than aerial, but I went with it!

Houston, Texas

Downtown Skyscrapers in Philadelphia, PA

Santa Cruz From the Air, Santa Cruz, Calif. linen c.1940s

Zurich, Switzerland postmarked 1924

This is one of my favorite postcards.  I love the bright color and crisp detail that is so much clearer than most of its age.

Next week brings Urban Street Views.

  1. Philly looks so grey! We are almost at the point where where an aerial view is the best way to see just how tall the CN Tower is over all the new built condos. I googled Zurich images just to make sure, and yes, the church spires are still the highest points in the city.

    1. That's nice no taller buildings have taken over Zurich's skyline!

  2. Woah! The Houston postcard makes my head spin. The Zurich card is so beautiful! Love those mountains.

    1. Mine too! Those kind online always zoom in or out too quickly. Like Google Earth, last time I used that I closed my eyes until it finished zooming.

  3. Those are great. I am partial to those kinds of views, though. You can really see an area that way.

    1. You can, and it's kind of fun to see the streets if you know the area. Like using Google Earth or similar!

  4. Looks like the high rises are paying homage to the CN Tower. I always enjoy cards that identify the mountains and Zurich looks lovely.

    1. Ha! They really do! "Ma and Pa" sent that postcard to son in Connecticut. They liked Zurich better than "Luzern."

  5. The Zurich postcard is my favorite, both for the colors but also the angle of the view. And the mountains! If I had a bucket list, Switzerland would be on it ever since I fell in love with the Heidi book.

  6. Me too, I just love the colours on the last postcard. But it would be quite difficult to choose only one of these!
