A quick stop at Goodwill on the way to the library gained me a painting!

Probably 1960s, probably oil, it's by Ann Aschettino.  I find two other paintings by this artist online.  They didn't sell for much, but one had an estimate before auction of $125-$175.  The cashier thought it was a "happy painting," and I agree.  It's fairly large, framed, and has rather '60s flower power look to it.

It fits right in with the colorful art on one of my bedroom walls.  I had to play Artwork Tetris to get it to fit.

Then, one day passing St. Vincent de Paul I saw that artwork was 50% off!

Besides a still life not shown, I bought this marker/pen sketch of musicians signed Paunch for only 50¢.

The back has a doodle, PaunchoDoodles.  I find nothing on the artist.  This was also professionally framed.  I think it's quite cute.

I'm glad they were having a 50% sale, not just for my own purchases, but because I had a load of donations in my car that included artwork, so they were making room!  The week before they weren't taking donations since they were full up.

(I have to make a confession... one of the paintings I donated that day, I bought back a few weeks later when I saw it in the store!  Fortunately, it was only $1.  They hung it upside down!)

Then... weeks later I dropped in and found this vintage Borghese (Italian) plaster gilt framed mirror.  It was hard to photograph!  It's shinier than this looks.  Not too shiny, like not fake shiny.  Even for plaster I was surprised how heavy it is.   It's about 6" x 8".  $2, which is quite a deal as the exact same one is for sale online for almost $330!  Borghese frames seems to go for quite a lot.

I hung it on my bedroom wall amongst the artwork.  It's reflection is one above my bed.  The cat on the pony above it is from the big art haul yard sale.  The one below it is called, translated from Russian, Hero City, Volgograd, by Aksyonov. It depicts a sculpture called The Motherland Calls.  I don't know who the artist is, I am not sure what the medium is, and I have no memory of buying it!    The information is on the back, in Russian, and I don't want to remove the backing to check it out.
