Tuesday Treasures - November 19, 2024

These "treasures" are all from the Goodwill Outlet (aka "Bins") on the same day.

I like vintage photo albums, and have found several in the Bins.

While it didn't contain any photos, it did have two of these 1943 postcards tucked inside.  They are My Little Golden Post Cards depicting a scene from the Little Golden Book The Lively Little Rabbit

A painting of artist supplies and work in progress in the background.  No signature.  Now I have two Bins paintings depicting paint!  The other

Three photos of this item my son found.  It's a small metal sculpture of... well, it's figurative, as it has two hands.  Or are they feet?  Here are three photos from different angles.  It sits best when it's like in the first photo.  What do you think?

There are different finishes to the metals.  Above the circular has some striping, while the larger part has a more galvanized look to just the one side.  The tear drop shape below is darker than any other piece and was obviously added for some purpose.  Here it looks a bit like a baby with the darker metal a topknot of hair.  And maybe a hand?

Naturally there were other things.  Lots of little inconsequential, but mostly useful things.  Cat dishes.  A wooden coat hanger.  A lot of photos and postcards from a Hawaiian vacation I removed from an album.  A new Thanksgiving card to send one of my brothers.

  1. I think you could spray paint the scupture and it would look like it cost thousands!

    1. It does look like it's "something" by "someone," doesn't it? I'll have to go over it carefully to check for any marks or signature.

  2. It is an interesting piece. You probably will see different things in it every time you look at it.

  3. It's different, all right. I have no idea what it represents.
