The bird's nest fungus "eggs" (spores) are ripe now!
You can see how the tops peel off to bare them to the rain that scatters them. Birds-nest fungus are also called splash cups for this reason.
Still ripening.
Another fungus growing in the grass.
And yet two more kinds growing in a crack in the overhang. Or not growing, they seem to have sort of dried out, mummified there. Obviously the overhang needs some care!
Autumn Tryst bearded iris is blooming some not prime condition flowers.
Other views of the front yard.
This was taken on a nearby street.
Things will probably look a lot different starting tomorrow, as tonight begins a stretch of temperatures in the 20s. Brrr... It will be sunny though. Maybe tomorrow morning will have some nice frost to photograph. If I go out in the cold, I have a head cold (sinus until today when my nose got better but a dry cough began) so not to looking forward to that prospect. But I do love frost photos.
