Tuesday Treasures: Thrifted Christmas Part I

Like for Halloween, I've been thrifting for Christmas all year.

I already shared a few of the best things.

Here are some more finds, mostly from the Goodwill Bins.  (I didn't end up keeping them all, but still this shows what fun things can be thrifted.)

All working lights!  The Santa and candy cane is a strand with two Santas and three canes.  The strand on the bottom left was made in Italy by Davina in the 1960s.   It's really pretty and different.

On two different occasions I picked up these corrugated plastic figures that hang from the gutter and each other.  The first group, left, are unused in their packaging!   They are BIG!

I like glass ornaments, and I found quite a few.  The Santas are from the Czech Republic.  The clown (only got him because he's glass!) is from the Goodwill Bins, the others from yard sales.

More Bins!  1960s Holt Howard mini winking mugs are quite collectable.  The ornaments in the box are mini.

Ornaments, including two glass (painted on the inside), and two wooden.  The woman with the accordion is from Russia.

A pair of startled fawns from a Goodwill.

Candlestick holders are a common Christmas decoration, however I've never seen one like this one made in Germany.  It's a angel playing an accordion.  Other versions are available online with drums, violins, trumpets, tubas... not the harps angels usually are depicted as playing.  It's made of celluloid, and from St. Vincent de Paul for $1.75.

Next Tuesday I'll be sharing the nativity sort of thrifts.  You know... donkeys... wise men... sheep...
