They are a bit creepy. I wonder why things from previous eras' childhoods read creepy now. Maybe association with horror films?
Maybe! The one on the right is missing a hand and a leg, which makes it more of a horror film! They are all from the Goodwill Bins, so people are ridding themselves of them! They are the original Elf on a Shelf really, and aren't given credit.
