The grain elevator in Central Point, OR.
This is who I used to work for, not at the elevator, at their pet and ranch store locations. I was across the street in a parking lot after shopping, hoping to get a video of the hundreds of birds that circle the place. No, they mostly decided to sit on the roofs. The sky was pretty though.
You can see some of them circling in the distance.
Here are some on a roof. It's funny to watch one try to squeeze in the seemingly measured landing spots!
Another roof where they hang onto the sides too.
The elevator and the mill (about a mile up the highway as we're facing here) are the reason there's a freight train paralleling the highway.
Have a nice weekend!
The skies remind me of winter skies in my childhood

ReplyDeleteGood thing that flock is peaceful. There are sure a lot of them.
ReplyDeleteThe old grain elevators are like the cathedrals of the prairies. I love them.
ReplyDeleteAmazing to see the birds lined up and taking up every inch of the roofline. Wonderful photos!
ReplyDeleteI don't think I ever saw that many pigeons in one place. From afar, I almost thought they were a huge flock of European starlings.
ReplyDeleteI love the birds on the roof!!
