Animals in the Snow for Thursday Postcard Hunt.

Deer in the Deep Woods

Husky Dog Team

Polar Bears

A flock of sheep in the snow.  Undivided back, postmarked 1907.

Is this the Federal Building?

A Postcrossing card from Serbia with a little dog in the snow.

So, how do we keep warm in the snow?  Next week will feature postcards answering that question.  Sports? Clothes? Fireplaces?

  1. These vintage postcards are adorable!
(I know it is not great for the animals, though!)

    1. Some animals don't mind the snow, although I supposed if they knew better they'd rather it spring or summer! I know huskies love it, it's the dog sledding I don't care for. Or, at least the official races, dogs die every year and it's just a competition, not a real life emergency (like the true story of Balto!).

  2. I'm sure some animals relish being in the snow (my cat, for instance!) I almost posted your first one. Sheep in snow with a barn like federal building is certainly unique

    1. Crazy cat! My dog before the one I have now liked all weather. Rain, snow, sun... he just loved it all. This one looks out the open door before committing to going out! Sometimes he just turns around! So, I tell him, "It's raining," and he understands that.

  3. Snow images make me happy! I like all of these. The Alska card is funny. And the tiny dog is super cute.

  4. That first one looks like a still from a movie from the 1950s.

    1. Or 60s. I remember the Disney wild animal movies and TV Wonderful World of Disney from my childhood. Postcards with those deckled edges are often from the '50s and '60s.
