This hardy geranium changes color and keeps its leaves, the others go dormant and I cut them to ground level. I think I'll still need to cut this one back before spring, but for now it's one of the only things with color in the garden. No, that's not true, quite a few things are adding a bit of color if I look closely.
The wild blackberry is pretty too, although I did try to get rid of it. This is the Himalayan blackberry, which isn't from the Himalayan area at all, but Armenia and Iran, as the name Rubus armeniacus let's us know.
Mushrooms. The gill photos I took yesterday were blurry, so this morning I went out to take more. Nope. I guess snails ate them in the night.
There isn't much hope for this rose bud.
The cedar stump is already being broken down by fungus.
...I cut my hardy geraniums back in the fall.
