HAPPY NEW YEAR'S EVE!
This week I'm sharing not what I've thrifted, but some of the things I would thrift, that I do collect, that I was gifted for Christmas. Some were thrifted though!
First are postcards.
This pile is from my son. He got them from the eBay seller I buy postcard lots from. He got me four lots! It was a great selection of undivided backs, white border, linen, chrome. All antique or vintage, USA or foreign. A few real photo postcards as well.
A small sample.
There are a few hotel postcards. I like those and have a growing collection of antique, vintage, and modern.
Heathman and New Heathman in Portland, OR
1959 postmark. The rates started at $5 "with Bath."

Undivided back, which dates it between 1901-1907.
Left: WWII era "naughty" postcards. These were humorous or risqué, or both, to add a little levity and raise morale for the soldiers.
Right: Quite a few aircraft postcards.
Remember what I said about the picnic. This is some of the representatives. What is your opinion. Who put thier (sic) foot in it. Has Mahone been burried (sic).
I've never seen another yawning dog figure. This one is stamped MK Hand Painted Japan.
At first it was like "You got me a toy broccoli?" But, he came to like it, it's nubbly. He got three toys, two were thrifted.
This is pretty accurate! Benny is known to unroll the TP when in "a mood." Of course it's on the wall above the actual TP.
See you next year! Kids loved saying that when we left for winter break back when I was in elementary school.
...be healthy and happy in the new year.
ReplyDeleteThank you. I'm sick right now, so it would be nice if health would start tomorrow! Probably take longer than that though.
DeleteI loved saying "see you next year" when I was working retail in my 20s ;)
ReplyDeleteI meant to say it to my son when I dropped him off at the airport, but I forgot!
