F Is for Flax

 F is for Flax (blue).



Blue flax is one perennial I winter sow every year.

    1. No, many "blue" are a purple. My native blue-eyed grass is blue too. Mine is just starting to open.

  5. It's a beautiful flower I have never tried to grow. I remember blue eyed grass from long ago, when I lived in Northwest Arkansas.

    1. It germinates very easily. The seed packet had so many I've been using them for a few years. Three, maybe four even.

  7. This is one thing I've never tried. I had no idea the flowers were blue. I'm not sure how it would do in my area...zone 8 I think. Sue at WhereBluebonnetsGrow

    1. I'm zone 8b, so you should be fine. The kind used for food is linum usitatissimum, with blue flowers too. This is Linum lewisii.
