I don't have a lot of shade to plant in, so that is under one of the cedars. It is an annual, and for a few years it manages to seed and grow just in the needle litter.
I grew sweet woodruff for several years. I'm fairly certain that I bought it as a plant, but I can't remember from where. As I recall, you have to dry it to get a fragrance. For a while it did self seed. The perennial vinca which came with our house, I believe, choked it out. I didn't see any blooming last year. I'll have to see about this year.
Such a pretty groundcover. Good luck with the plantings of the year!

DeleteI did not know woodruff was a plant. I know the name woodruff as a street. Thanks for the info.
ReplyDeleteI never heard of a street named Woodruff!

ReplyDeleteI don't have much of it, so I just let it be and make sure it's watered.
DeleteOh, it's fun to see the beginnings of your plantings. Good luck as they grow throughout the season. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteAnother pretty little plant. Leaves look like rosemary…
ReplyDeleteThey are much softer though. Narrower than the photo looks too.
DeleteA new one for me.
